“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
Joseph Goebbels

“I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace.” G.W.Bush

"Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them".
George Orwell

 We Need Your Input!

For this section of the site to be successful we really need your input. You can get in touch via the forum if you would like articles posted on this page with regard to the English/Japanese media. The idea is that via the forum we'll be able to pressurize mainstream media outlets in Japan into reporting news more responsibly a la Medialens in the UK. This page will be used for "Media Action Announcements" whereby a particular news provider will be highlighted and critiqued and their contact details will be displayed for you to write to them with your observations and questions. Without you it's nothing!

Try to choose articles that are available in both English and Japanese, so that our Japanese participants can get involved in media action too. For info in Japanese, please go to the Japanese page..
